BMW Performance Center

elite|studio e has collaborated with BMW for many years on projects ranging from feasibility studies to design and construction to smallwares recommendations and procurement. As a result of our continued partnership with the company, when BMW desired a renovation to its Greer, SC, Performance Center, elite|studio e was called upon.

In 2018, our Project Director visited the site to perform a feasibility study. He analyzed and took all of the project’s relevant factors into account — including economic, technical, and scheduling considerations — to ascertain the likelihood of completing the project successfully. Once our study was complete, design began and ultimately, elite|studio e was hired to renovate the space.

Our feasibility study recommendations included an increase in approximately 10-20 percent for both the kitchen and 

café.  This would provide better circulation for both the operator and consumer. However, given the size constraints of adjoining spaces, the selective demolition of walls in the kitchen and the expansion of the space just outside of the kitchen was a less expensive option to help improve the space requirements.

In addition to increasing the square footage, the renovation included equipment replacement;  relocating the walk-in refrigerator for easier access;  and redesigning the serving line for throughput and 

customer flow. 

elite|studio e worked extremely closely with the client to meet their needs. When partnering with BMW, this means following its Guideline for Foodservice Facilities and, often times, working with the company’s architect and other team members in Europe.
