Western Connecticut State University

Partnering with the operator from the beginning, our team conceptualized the design, created construction documents and budgets, and lead the building of this campus dining hall. The turnkey project was a rush as the university wanted it completed in the summer when fewer students were on campus. 

In eight weeks we completed a gut renovation featuring custom millwork, new equipment, stone counter tops and integrated technology, including self-order kiosks. The café highlights include counter height seating along the windows, a lounge area and parson’s tables with built-in charging stations. The dining room also has numerous televisions on the walls. 

The team at elite|studio e was able to make this happen quickly because our team already knew the project. It’s a benefit to using a design/build firm. In addition, when we design a site, our interior and foodservice designers work together to ensure the project is buildable and compliant with the Department of Health.
